Job Duties
The responsibilities of the role include,
§ Support Early Childhood Educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children.
§ Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts.
· Bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers
§ Supports and responds to different learning styles in daily routines
§ ensures a safe environment for children in all spaces
§ Prepare snacks and assisting in housekeeping duties.
§ Assist with proper eating, dressing and toilet habits.
§ Attend staff meetings to discuss the progress and problems of children.
§ Assisting supervisors in keeping records.
Requirements and Qualifications
§ Grade 12 or equivalent.
§ Completion of an Early Childhood education assistant certificate program or post-secondary courses in Early Childhood education may be required
§ 1-2 years of experience in working with early learners (0-12 years).
§ Licensing required
§ Well-developed interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication
§ First Aid and Foodsafe certification would be an asset
§ Applicant must be fluent in English
§ A satisfactory criminal record check is required
§ Ability to work effectively with parents and caregivers,
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
