Summary:
The Early Years Coordinator is a team player and oversees all operations concerning the Children's Education and Development activities within the Women's Safe Shelter. The Candidate demonstrates skills in leadership, knowledge of child growth, development and behaviors, knowledge of crisis management and food preparation and supplies management. This position demands outstanding written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills and experience working with child victims of interpersonal violence.

- Adhere to agency policies and procedures
- Work independently and in a team atmosphere, in accordance to the agency philosophy, mission and goals
- Complete administrative documentation related to position duties, including outcome measurements, statistics, report writing, time-sheets, and expense claims
- Maintain professional and ethical boundaries
- Be non-judgmental, respectful, empathetic to client's needs, and a healthy role model
- Participate in community awareness initiatives and training as directed by the Executive Director
- Prepare Menu and Grocery order following Canada Food Guide, maintaining supplies within budget.
- Acts in Lead Hand Role for Residential Services Shelter Manager
- Manage crisis situations in Manager's absence.
- Complete required valid training within 30 days of hire:
o Crisis Line
o CPR/First Aid
o Safe Food Handling Certificate/ WHMIS
Qualifications
Post secondary education in Early Childhood Education, Youth Care field or a combination of education and experience required
