About the Opportunity

The Electro Mechanical Technician is responsible to the Assistant Manager/Supervisor of Laundry & Assistant Manager - Facilities Management and Support. Technicians are involved in the repair, and maintenance of industrial laundry equipment as well as dealing with suppliers, venders and outside repair contractors. Candidate may also be requested to assist other maintenance staff throughout the facility when needed. Overtime may be required, and some variability in working hours may be necessary to minimize equipment downtime.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Must have successfully completed an Electronic or Electromechanical Technician program (or acceptable equivalent). Applicants with a Journeyperson Red Seal Millwright certificate will be considered.
  • Travel to other sites is required. Access to reliable transportation is required
  • Must able to troubleshoot, repair, calibrate and otherwise maintain electronic and mechanical equipment.
  • Candidates must clearly demonstrate extensive experience in repair and maintenance of both the electronics and steam components found in industrial laundry equipment in their application.
  • Proficiency with basic office software such as MS Word and Excel as well as Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (Mega Mations).
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of hospital personnel and outside agencies. Ability to solve both technical and non-technical problems in a reasonably proficient manner.
  • Ability to work independently with a minimum of direct supervision.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Long assignment, full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Assignment is approximately 36 months in length

Compensation and Incentives

$28.22 - $29.64 Hourly
