Electronics Hardware Engineer

Quantum Energy Technologies provides R&D and contract engineering services to the oil and gas industry with a primary focus on creating new technology to aid in drilling and completions. Quantum provides custom solutions combining robust mechanical performance with advanced electronic data and sensing.

We have a full-time position opening for an Electronics Hardware Engineer in our Calgary office.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have proven 10+ years experience in electronics circuits design and PCB layout in North America
• Have proven experience with MWD downhole tool or high-temperature environment equipment design
• Altium schematic capture and PCB layout skills are essential
• Familiarity with MWD downhole and surface sensors
• Experience in firmware coding and debugging with IDE tools is an asset
• Have a high level of self-drive and initiative, proactive learner, strong work ethic, goal-focused, and attentive to detail
• Soldering and rework skills are desirable

Job Duties:

The successful candidate will carry out various tasks related to MWD Systems research, design, and testing. The responsibilities of this role include:

• Design and update downhole and surfacer circuits and PCB layout
• Testing, debug and troubleshooting the assembled PCB board
• Working with firmware engineers for firmware debug and troubleshooting
• PCB and system assembly if needed
• Manufacturing supporting
• Authoring internal(technical) and External (ECN updates) document
• Field trial for prototypes testing
