Infiniti Electro-Optics is a division of Ascendent Technology Group Inc. located in Cranbrook, BC. Infiniti is a manufacturer of high-end military grade surveillance camera systems. Our market leading products are used to protect and secure the most critical assets around the world on land, sea, and air. Infiniti is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our dynamic team as an Electronics Manufacturing Technician for the assembly of our Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) cameras. This position is located at our cutting-edge facility in Cranbrook, BC, where innovation and precision are at the forefront.

Description of Responsibilities:

Mechanical Assembly:

Execute intricate mechanical assembly tasks, meticulously assembling EO/IR PTZ camera components according to established procedures and/or guidance from coworkers.

Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure that mechanical designs are translated accurately during the assembly process.

Soldering:

Demonstrate proficiency in soldering techniques to delicately assemble electronic components, guaranteeing high-quality connections and adherence to industry standards.

Maintain a keen eye for detail to meet stringent quality control measures in electronic assembly.

Troubleshooting:

Identify and resolve issues that may arise during the manufacturing process, employing a systematic approach to troubleshooting.

Work closely with cross-functional teams to address and rectify equipment malfunctions promptly and minimize downtime.

Wiring:

Demonstrate proficiency in handling wiring tasks, ensuring that all connections are made with precision and in strict accordance with electrical specifications.

Collaborate with electrical engineers to implement wiring solutions to enhance the overall reliability of the camera system.

TCP/IP and Serial Communication:

Configure and troubleshoot communication protocols such as TCP/IP and serial to facilitate integration of electronic components within the camera system.

Work closely with the IT and networking teams to ensure compatibility and reliability of communication interfaces.

Quality Control:

Implement rigorous quality control measures throughout the manufacturing process to ensure the production of EO/IR cameras meeting or exceeding industry standards.

Conduct inspections and testing at various stages to identify defects or inconsistencies and take corrective actions as needed.

Testing:

Perform comprehensive testing of assembled EO/IR cameras to validate functionality and performance.

Collaborate with quality assurance teams to develop and enhance testing protocols, ensuring the reliability of the final product.

Preferred Basic Proficiency in Code:

Basic proficiency in coding languages is an asset to facilitate communication with embedded systems and programmable components and spot simple issues or doing basic configuration and input of parameters.

Requirements:

  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Willingness to learn and understand new technology is essential for success
  • Have sound judgement and capability of making decisions under pressure
  • Follow priorities set by team leaders
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work in fast paced environments with professionalism and confidence
  • Willingness to work from 9AM to 5PM with occasional evenings and weekends (as required)

Assets (not required):

  • Technical degree and/or certification in IT/Electronics field
  • Basic networking principles and understanding of TCP/IP networks
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating Systems
  • Comptia A+, Network+, Security+, certifications are an asset
  • Experience in IT/technical troubleshooting or technical support environment
  • Experience with IP video surveillance technology
  • Experience with Single Board Computers; Raspberry Pi, Jetson Nano, etc
  • Experience with serial communication (RS232, RS485, RS422, TTL, etc)
  • Programming experience in Python, C, C++, etc
