We are currently recruiting in St. John’s for the following positions:
Employer Engagement Coordinator
(Full-time, permanent)
The Employer Engagement Coordinator will assist with the development and operation of an exciting new initiative focused on assisting immigrants to Newfoundland and Labrador to secure meaningful employment and providing direct support to employees and employers. Specific tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Building relationships with employers across sectors throughout the province and identifying the skills gaps, training needs, and tools needed to hire and retain workers.
- Maintaining an active database of employers and job openings.
- Connecting employers with newcomers and facilitating job placements.
- Providing information, education and direct support to employers through the recruitment, hiring and employment processes.
- Organizing and hosting employer events.
Qualifications: The Employer Engagement Coordinator will be an innovative and enthusiastic individual with extensive experience in the business community and a sound understanding of the needs of employers in Newfoundland and Labrador. Demonstrated capacity to build relationships across a range of industries and employment sectors is essential. A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Community Development, Communications, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree would be an asset. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are a must, along with a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
The position also requires a clear Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check from the RNC or RCMP, valid Driver’s license and use of a private vehicle while at work.
