RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide employment counselling services to job seekers including un/underemployed, newcomers, persons with disabilities, seniors, indigenous, disadvantaged youth and adults
· Manage a caseload of job seekers, motivating and supporting them through employment-specific opportunities
· Case-manage multiple client cases with the end goal of helping clients achieve and maintain sustainable employment, increased independence and self-sufficiency
· Positively contribute to monthly individual and team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) while managing your workload through prioritization and effective time management
· Ensure clients achieve their employment goals and receive the best support possible
· Conduct Common Assessments to understand and document the client's strengths, abilities, skills and other relevant employment-related factors
· Support clients’ return to employment through job search training, skills development, work readiness and other activities outlined in their Employment Action Plan
· Assess the local job market to identify and pursue suitable employment opportunities on behalf of our clients
· Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients emphasizing respect, trust and confidentiality
· Conduct consistent follow-up with clients and any necessary one-on-one coaching
· Enter, update and maintain accurate client data in internal database and web-based case management system
· Assist clients with various components of the application process for Better Jobs Ontario
· Develop and maintain relationships with community partners as part of generating client referrals
When necessary, assist the team with:
o Job fairs, hiring events, guest speakers, and special events
o Marketing, social media, and outreach activities
o Facilitating information sessions and workshops (in-person and virtual), and updating materials
QUALIFICATIONS
· Post-secondary education in Career Counselling/Career Development, Social Services, Vocational Rehabilitation, or a related field combined with relevant experience
· Minimum one (1) year of experience case managing a variety of client groups including; People with Disabilities, Newcomers, Francophones, Indigenous People, Youth at Risk and job seekers facing multiple barriers to employment
· Adherence to the highest level of customer service, confidentiality and professional codes of conduct
· Excellent documentation and report writing skills
· Professional resume writing, interview coaching and individualized goal setting and planning
· Good understanding of the complex needs of clients who face barriers to employment, including knowledge of the local labour market, job search techniques, government programs and community programs
· Knowledge of job creation programs, education and training programs and subsidized training programs
· Excellent communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skills
· Excellent knowledge of internet, e-mail, and Microsoft Office
· Experience with Zoom, social media, job posting sites
· Strong time management and organizational skills
· Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and eager to learn
· Experience with CaMS would be an asset
· Clear police check is mandatory
