Position: Energy Supervisor

Closing: Posting will remain open until filled

Term: Full Time (35 hours per week)

Salary Range: $64,200.00- $75,400.00

We are currently seeking an Energy Supervisor able to work from any of our office locations.

As the Energy Supervisor you will be an integral member of the Energy Team, responsible for, but not limited to, working directly with energy and property management staff and tenants to achieve new energy and improved standards within our portfolio. The role will play a pivotal part in developing and implementing the OAHS Energy plan, which focuses on tenant education and energy efficiency within our existing and new housing stock. The successful candidate will be a goal- oriented, organized, enthusiastic individual who understands and appreciates how safe, affordable housing contributes to the quality of life and serves as a stable foundation.

Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Support OAHS’s mission and vision and make significant contributions to the achievement of the corporate strategic plan;
  • Supervise day to day operations surrounding ongoing implementation of OAHS Energy Plan;
  • Direct supervision of 4-8 staff within OAHS Energy division;
  • Reviewing and overseeing timely reporting to ensure deadlines are met for IESO, Greensaver and other partner organizations;
  • Ability and willingness to lead presentations at tenant education sessions, conferences, etc;
  • Promote and develop OAHS Tenant Assistance Program in relation to OAHS Energy Plan;
  • Work closely with Development team to promote sustainable management in new development through reviewing long and short-term cost savings opportunities prior to construction;
  • Ongoing review of energy related grants and programs that may come available for existing and new housing stock within OAHS;
  • Promote environmental awareness within office spaces and in construction practices;
  • Ongoing cost analysis of OAHS Energy Plan through tracking Energy upgrades and associated utility reliefs;
  • Oversee and develop literature surrounding tenant and staff education in Energy practices;
  • Arrange training for field staff in Energy related practices;
  • Strive for company growth through continually developing and evolving OAHS Energy Division;
  • Other duties as required.

To qualify for this role, the successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Appreciation for Indigenous cultures and a values system that believes in assisting people;
  • Post-Secondary certificate, diploma or degree in a related field;
  • Certified Energy Advisor certificate would be an Asset but not required;
  • Knowledge of maintenance and operations surrounding single detached homes and multi-unit buildings;
  • Related experience in energy conservation or project management in residential and commercial environments;
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in Property Management or Energy Sector;
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience ideally in the housing sector;
  • Previous experience with day to day scheduling and co-ordination of staff;
  • Knowledge of working experience on Energy related projects and renovations;
  • Experience managing large energy related projects;
  • Home construction knowledge would be considered a valuable asset;
  • Willingness to learn and attend training courses focused on the energy sector;
  • Self-starter, motivated, extremely organized;
  • Strong verbal communication and on-phone etiquette;
  • Ability to conduct presentations to large groups (10+);
  • Accuracy and attention to details;
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others in teams and across organizational boundaries and respects differences between people;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to contribute to achievement of team goals.

Conditions of employment:

  • Ability to travel within Ontario as required;
  • Ability to work varying hours/days;
  • Valid CPIC Clearance (Criminal Records check) and/or Vulnerable Sector Check;
  • References;
  • Current, valid Ontario Driver’s Licence, or willingness to obtain G/G2 licence;
  • Safe driving record (3-year Driver record search).
