Description

Located out of our Calgary office, the individual in the Project Engineering Intern role will report to the Senior Project Manager, Major Projects. The successful candidate will be assisting the project engineers and managers in the broader Major Projects group within the Transportation department.


Program Support
  • Assist in the development of Design Basis Memoranda and Project Execution Plans
  • Assist in developing regulatory, First Nations, land, and environmental activities for Major Projects
  • Participate in engineering meetings with consultants
  • Execute one-off tasks and projects under the supervision of an engineer
  • Provide cost estimating support to project managers and engineers
  • Assist in the review of third-party documents
  • Liaise with support systems personnel involved with day-to-day system operations and maintenance
  • Attend field construction meetings
  • Provide contract development support for construction and consulting contracts
  • Provide support for evaluation of contract proponents
  • Consult with internal stakeholders to gain consensus on project engineering design decisionsSuperior EH&S and Compliance Performance
  • Consistently perform responsibilities and duties to Inter Pipeline’s Core Values and EH&S Policy, Values and Commitment statement
  • Ensure that work is completed in compliance with all applicable regulations and Inter Pipeline standards
  • Be part of a work environment which rewards excellent EH&S and compliance results and allows co-workers to learn from mistakes and share learnings across the businessAPEGA Guidelines
  • Ensure all engineering work performed is presented to a licensed Professional Engineer within the group for review and approval


Education, Skills & Experience

  • Intern or Co-op Student from a Canadian Engineering school
  • Must have completed 3rd year of Engineering Program
  • Demonstrated time management, attention to detail, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills


Hours:
Monday-Friday, fulltime

Term: 12 or 16 month term starting May 1, 2024
