Who we are

The New Brunswick Housing Corporation (NBHC) is currently seeking an ambitious and skilled Manager to join the recently renewed and restructured NBHC.

NBHC is focused on working with all levels of government, community groups, organizations, and the private sector to identify and maximize housing development opportunities while providing support through a housing strategy to positively impact New Brunswickers.

What you will do?

As the Manager of Modernization you will work under the direction of the Director of Construction and Modernization and be responsible for the Modernization portfolio for Housing NB. This includes:

  • Managing technical staff (engineers and engineering technologists).
  • Managing multiple capital programs.
  • RFP and tender preparation.
  • Managing consultant and construction contracts.
  • Providing technical advice to Housing NB programing staff.
  • Providing functional direction to Housing NB regional staff.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: University degree in Engineering and a minimum of eight (8) years of related work experience which includes project management experience and two (2) years of supervisory experience. Registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Asset Qualifications:

Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate the following assets:

  • Experience in analyzing technical issues,
  • Reporting conclusions and making recommendations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Suites, specifically Excel
  • Working knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada

Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

Work environment:

Office location: *551 King Street, Fredericton.

*Other office locations within NB can be considered if operation requirements permit.

Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday 8:15 am to 4:30 pm.

Some travel within the province and valid class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick will be required.

Salary: $2,568.83 to $3,516.04 bi-weekly, Engineer Level 3 - Agriculture, Veterinary, Engineering, Land Surveying, and Architecture
