Start Date: April 8, 2024 to June 30, 2024 or until the incumbent returns, whichever occurs first

Salary: $58,881.00 - $111,274.00

Assignment: 1.0 Continuing Limited Duration Position

SPECIFIC ASSIGNMENT TO BE DETERMINED BY THE PRINCIPAL

The School District

Nechako Lakes is situated on the traditional unceded territories of fourteen First Nations encompassing the Dakelh, Nedut’en and Wet’suweten peoples. The school district encompasses five municipalities, the Districts of Fort St James and Vanderhoof and the Villages of Fraser Lake, Burns Lake and Granisle. This large area served by our school district has a population of just under 40,000 residents in the beautiful north central BC.

We serve 3,000 students in our standard schools and approximately 900 FTE at EBUS Academy, one of the largest online schools in British Columbia. Our region has affordable housing, welcoming communities and a lower cost of living than many other regions. Qualifications :

Bachelor of Education

Minimum completion of 3rd and 4th year level university course work necessary for teaching the senior level curricula that are part of this assignment.

A valid BC teaching certificate and current membership with The Ministry of Education and Childcare.

Ability to assist students as needed in a variety of curriculum areas at junior/senior grade levels.

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a positive classroom learning environment that engages students in active learning experiences.

Demonstrated ability to use inclusive instruction to meet the learning needs of diverse learners.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working from an inclusion perspective to address diverse learning needs

Understand and use a trauma-informed approach in professional practice.

Experience and knowledge using competency-based assessment strategies.

Experience in differentiating instruction to create success in learning for each student.

Experience in integrating appropriate technologies into instructional practices to improve learning outcomes for students.
