Job description

Description: Enhanced staff collaborate with other club staff to develop and support implementing strategies for self regulation and behaviour management to support children and youth with various needs to successfully integrate into club programs including before and after school, full-day (PA Day) programs and camps (holidays and summer). Our programs work with families, schools, and community partners to provide increased support for participants, ensure positive outcomes, and help set children and youth on a path to success. Enhanced staff may be scheduled to work in Lindsay or at a rural program site, including Kirkfield, Dunsford, Mariposa, and Coboconk.

  • Enhanced staff support engagement, safety, belonging and inclusion of children with exceptionalities and specific needs.
  • Enhanced role is to promote and support the wellbeing of children and youth, including their cognitive, emotional, physical and social needs.

Qualifications:

  • Current First Aid and CPR certification is mandatory.
  • Criminal Reference Check (18+ years of age) and a Vulnerable Sector Screening (19+ years of age) in accordance with the Police Record Checks Reform Act (PRCRA). Applications can be completed online through your local Police station.
  • Experience supporting children and youth with cognitive, physical and/or behavioural needs is mandatory
  • Experience supporting children and youth with self regulation strategies is an asset
  • High 5 Principles of Healthy Child Development or willingness to acquire.
  • Behaviour Management Systems, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (or an approved equivalent) would be a strong asset.

  • SSW, CYW, Psychology, BSW, EA experience would be a strong asset.
