What is the opportunity?

  • An an Equipment Finance Specialist you will support the Capital Markets and Corporate Client segments working directly with RBC's Corporate Client Group, RBC Capital Markets Corporate Banking Group and other RBC partners to create customized Equipment Finance solutions for both existing RBC clients, and new clients to the bank. You have knowledge of key client industry segments, client equipment acquisition and refresh strategies, as well as, in depth knowledge of Equipment Finance solutions for large corporates across North America in order to drive business growth. This role will require you to grow, expand and acquire new corporate clients at RBC and provide an exceptional client experience through superior business insights and financial advice.

What will you do?

  • Be a strategic advisor through proactive relationship building and providing sound financial advice to clients.

  • Increase sales and revenue through prospecting/lead generation, sales meetings/discovery sessions, sales planning/reviews, internal/external presentations.

  • Create an exceptional client experience and be accountable when any major client issues and/or escalations arise.

  • Excel at needs discovery and solution development, and co-ordinate with the Capital Markets and Corporate Client Group teams to deliver on client needs.

  • Continue personal development, formal and informal learning.

  • What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Proven track record in the Equipment Finance industry with deep knowledge of Equipment Finance structures, sales and business development, and exceptional client relationship management.

  • Ability to research and read financial statements of large private and public companies to gain insights that can drive value around potential Equipment Finance needs.

  • Sales and financial advice skills: pre-call planning, negotiations, client discovery/active listening, contact management strategy, objection handling, closing the deal and asking for the business, solutions structuring and option creation, cross-selling, conducting sales calls, making presentations and leveraging the relationship team.

  • Professional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently, as well as effectively within a team environment and to interact at all levels within a large organization.

  • Ability to read and understand complex legal documents, prioritize, commit to task with excellent attention to detail, and perform well under pressure to meet time sensitive deadlines as this is frequently not a 9-to-5 environment.

  • High degree of computer literacy: MS Office Suite, database software, and electronic tools for on-line research. Competent with virtual presentations and meetings.

  • Effective time management who can manage multiple priorities and adapt as required.

  • Requires fluency in French and English in order to serve our clients in the community with English speaking needs.
