Our client is a Winnipeg based organization that has been a leading pioneer in the recycling and sustainability field. Known for their conceptualization, design and delivery of complex programs, our team is excited to assist in the search for an Event & Marketing Coordinator to join their growing team.
Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Manager, this role is responsible for coordinating a wide range of marketing and outreach functions, with a primary focus on event marketing and execution. The scope of the position also includes coordinating sponsorship opportunities.
Responsibilities
Events
- Lead, schedule and hire a dedicated team of brand ambassadors.
- Contribute to the effective planning and execution of experiential marketing programs.
- Review and manage sponsorship opportunities.
- Contribute to creative and experiential planning strategy sessions.
- Coordinate event content, photos and videos for social media and stories.
- Supports community management of social media platforms which entails monitoring and responding to comments on behalf of the organization.
Marketing
- Promotional item planning, budgeting and procurement related to contests, event
promotions, etc.
- Maintenance, tracking and inventory of stock room for promotional items.
- Coordinates communications and creative assets for partnerships and sponsorships.
- Supports the development and delivery of internal and external communications materials in a timely manner (e.g., presentations, reports, and other materials as required).
- Proofreads and edits internal and external communications materials.
Skills & Qualifications
- 2 years’ experience in a similar role with a diploma/degree in business or creative
communications.
- Familiarity with waste management and recycling programs would be considered an asset.
- Exceptional writing, editing and interpersonal communication skills.
- Superior time management and organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment both independently and as part of a team.
- Expertise in Office 365 applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability in using various email marketing platforms.
- Proven knowledge of communications and Marketing ethics and best practices.
- An analytical mind and ability to think critically.
- Willing to work flexible hours to meet deadlines and accept other duties as required.
- Driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
