Position: Energy Efficiency Event Representative
Job Type: Part-time, Contract, Customer Engagement
Event Dates: April 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 28, May 4, 5
Locations: Retailers in Greenwood and Berwick, NS – see dates and location at the bottom of the posting
Hourly Wage: $18/hour.
Summerhill is dedicated to developing, implementing, and managing public engagement and market transformation programs that lead to measurable improvements in energy savings.
We seek outgoing, energetic, and dynamic individuals to join our team as Event Representatives for our latest events in Greenwood and Berwick, Nova Scotia. The Efficiency Nova Scotia Instant Savings Campaign will be promoted in-store at select retailers across the province from March 23 - May 19. The events will take place on various weekends in the campaign period to promote the campaign.
Summerhill Group delivers Efficiency Nova Scotia’s Instant Savings Program. It aims to make customers and retailers aware of energy efficiency opportunities, encourage customers to take action by purchasing and installing energy-efficient products, increase demand for energy-efficient products, and increase the availability of energy-efficient products at retailers.
The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, an enthusiastic disposition, and will have a genuine interest in the environment and energy conservation.
Job Responsibilities
- Educate customers on energy efficiency choices and related product knowledge (training will be provided)
- Facilitate events at store level
- Set up and wrap up event/area booth
- Track program participation, collect customer information electronically and submit all reporting to the appropriate lead in a timely fashion
- Receive event materials
- Provide excellent customer service
- Coordinate with appropriate lead if additional POP is needed
- Attend paid training
Job Qualifications/ Requirements
- Knowledge of email and Internet applications
- Written skills; ability to log information accurately
- Strong interpersonal skills; comfortable talking to new people and adjusting communication style as needed
- Strong verbal communication skills in English
- Able to remain in a stationary position for the duration of the shift (typically 6 hours)
- Access to a computer with internet
- Friendly and professional manner and appearance
Working Conditions
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for the duration of the shift
Shift Times
9:30-10am Set-up (30 Min)
10 am-3 pm Event (5 Hours)
3:00-3:15 pm Take-down (15 Min)
Paid Training– Mandatory
