Every job description at Cordova Bay Golf Course starts with ‘Deliver an outstanding customer experience’ and ends with ‘Miscellaneous duties as required’. We consider ourselves one large team with the singular mission of delivering an outstanding customer experience. The responsibility for delivering on this mission lies with every single person on staff. Some days that means helping out other team members with their jobs, sometimes it means fixing a customer’s flat tire or launching a rescue mission to get a pull cart out of a pond, it can mean singing happy birthday when a customer walks into the pro shop, it always means picking up litter on the property. We will fail or succeed as a team and it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure we succeed.

Job Description

v Deliver an outstanding customer experience.

Events

v Chief cat herder for managing external events at both our 18-hole and 9-hole course in addition to F&B events at our restaurant and café.

v Provide prospective customers with a welcoming and informative experience through the process of initial contact, preparation of a quote and formal booking.

v Now the fun begins -coordinating the myriad of event details including menu selection, deadlines, final numbers, and detailing all set-up and takedown required for a successful event.

v Attend weekly events meetings and prepare reports to support your fellow team members in executing successful events. Go Team!

v Maintain a facility wide events calendar.

v Create event forms to track and share all those details to be used with both customers and our internal team. Ensure the golf shop is supplied with paper copies (because we are old school like that!).

v Be present (both in body and spirit) for events as required.

v Provide support for advance group bookings.

Communication

v Produce and distribute the weekly Club News and the weekly Staff News, the critically acclaimed publication known as the Noisy Goat.

v Ensure our website is not only current but take the reins in reviewing content, formatting, and verifying the display of information as needed.

v Social Media – keep our facilities active on social media with informative posts, captivating photos, or short videos featuring the fun and beauty of Cordova Bay.

Other

v Produce and supply required documents for both golf shops including posters, brochures, application forms and more using Canva.

v Liaise between Ridge and Pro Shop as needed and keep them supplied with products as needed. Help ensure a good flow of communication between our facilities.

v Work frontline shifts at the Ridge Course and Bay Course when required

v Miscellaneous duties as required.

Qualifications

v Friendly positive disposition with strong communication and people skills.

v Deep commitment to customer service experience.

v Exceptional organizational skills. We’ll give you all the sticky notes and

coloured pens your heart desires!

v Strong computer skills.

v Creative problem solver.

v Sense of humour is a definite bonus.

v Basic familiarity with golf. Ideally you know an eagle isn’t just a majestic bird (although we do have a lot of those that hang around the course -it is a great job perk for ornithophiles).
