Role Summary
Home Base programs support youth to achieve increased independence, reconnection with family and/or important people in their lives, and to function more successfully in the community, while residing in a safe and supportive housing environment.
Home Base is seeking experienced, dynamic and motivated individual to fill the essential role of Executive Assistant/ Bookkeeper position.
The Bookkeeper/Executive Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization as well as providing administrative support to the Executive Director and various departments This position involves a combination of administrative, organizational, and communication tasks to ensure smooth HR operations and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
Responsibilities
Bookkeeper:
- PROFICIENCY WITH QUICKBOOKS IS ESSENTIAL
- Complete biweekly payroll processing and ensure accurate and timely payments.
- Calculate staff sick time and update this information in the books.
- Reconcile bank accounts for all visas, checking and savings accounts.
- Regularly pay off visas to ensure funds are available for program coordinators.
- Update the budget spreadsheets weekly, working closely with the funding coordinator.
- Manage monthly expenditures for rental apartments
Executive Assistant:
- Provide support to the Executive Director as and when requested.

The successful candidate will bring with them:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Degree or Diploma, including but not limited to Office Administration (asset)
- Proven experience in an administrative or executive assistant role, with exposure to HR functions.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in a similar role/environment (required)

Prerequisites
- Yellowknife resident , this is an on-site position with flexibility available (required)
- Current Work VISA Status (required)
- Fluency in English (comprehension, verbal & written) (_required)_
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
- Class 5 Drivers License with minimum of 1 yr driving experience (_required)_
- Clear Driver's Abstract (_required)_
- Child and Family Services Check (as necessary)
