Position

HiRoad is hiring experienced and competent Rule 42 / Protecting Railway Foremen who are expected to protect crews and projects by TOP and Rule 42 protectiong under demanding timelines, and in all weather conditions across Canada. Only those previously approved as Protecting Foreman will be considered for this position.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years total railway experience
• Previous experience and approval to run Rule 42 protection unsupervised
• CROR Operating Rules
• Ability to Pass e-Railsafe online test
• Ability to pass background check
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with Abstract
• Able to lift over 50lbs
• Willingness to learn and use company software
• Must pay attention to detail, follow instructions, communicate effectively, while keeping your workspace/equipment clean and tidy.

Job Duties

Perform all duties of an experienced Protecting Foreman including but not limited to:

• Work long hours, predominantly outdoors, in all weather conditions, and away from home
• Capable of making effective decisions in unfamiliar locations or when responding to changes or interruptions in work processes.
• Keep yourself and team safe at all times
• Maintain documents, records, and reports as required
• Communicate with HiRoad and Railway management
• Work effectively unsupervised and as part of a team

Preference maybe given to candidates with the following:

• ATP qualification from any major railway
• Drivers license qualification above passenger vehicles
• Willingness to take on additional duties and learn about signals
• Formal education in electrical and related fields such as math or physics
