Facility and Groundskeeper

Position Summary

Land and Sky Grains is looking for a multi-faceted, hardworking, individual interested in facility maintenance and groundskeeping. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of company and personal properties, as well as performing small repairs.

Job Tasks

Your main duties will occur on both company and personal premises in multiple locations.

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as mowing the lawn, trimming the hedges, shoveling snow, small repairs, etc.
• Ensure that the facilities and equipment are in good working order and report any issues or damages
• Plant, weed, water, and transplant small seedling trees on the premise.
• Plant, weed, trim, and transplant in flower and vegetable gardens
• Clean and maintain all aspects of Land & Sky Grains according to company standards.
• Clean windows, blinds, window treatments, and window ledges in all areas.
• Clean and dust all aspects of the business including but not limited to baseboards, mirrors, doors, door frames, pictures, shelves, desk, light fixtures, banisters, décor etc.
• Clean the stairways, basement, mechanical rooms and shop areas.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms regularly.
• Empty and dispose of all trash.
• Routine checks and maintenance on smoke detectors, thermostats, furnace filters, water systems, etc
• Ensure all outside areas of the business are kept tidy, especially in front of the building and the parking lot(s).
• Potential for vehicle and equipment cleaning
• Respect our privacy and confidentiality at all times

Essential Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• A criminal background check
• A high school diploma or equivalent
• At least two years of experience in Facility and groundskeeping
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Ability to operate and maintain various tools and equipment
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and carrying
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
• Ability to communicate effectively and politely
• Ability to work at a sustained pace, returning to work promptly after a break
• A friendly, trustworthy, and respectful personality

Education and Experience

At least 2 years’ experience with Facility and/or groundskeeping.

Experience with farming and agriculture safety practices is an asset.

Education in Horticulture, Groundskeeping or Facility Management is an asset.

Job Types: Full-time, Casual

Salary: $22.00-$26.50 per hour
