Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Facility Engineer Technician conducts semi-skilled manual maintenance and inspection work performed on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system in various buildings operated by REAL. The Facility Engineer Technician will work with considerable independence and must exercise discretion at times, as in the case of deciding whether to shut down a boiler during an emergency. Unusual situations are referred to a supervisor, who also makes visual inspections of the incumbents regular work. Will be responsible for completing or overseeing a variety of assignments to carry out the renovation, and maintenance of buildings and facilities.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
--Maintains equipment and facilities by completing tasks including but not limited do repairs, -installations, remodeling, inspections, keeping proper records, and reporting concerns.
--Ensure health and safety is made a priority by reporting all incidents and near misses, conducting hazards assessments, and ensuring equipment and facilities is up to regulation and legislated standards.
--Performing other duties as allocated.
WHAT IT TAKES
Must possess a minimum of three (3) of the following certificates:
--5th class power engineering certificate
-Refrigeration engineers certificate
-Refrigeration plant operators certificate
-Firemans certificate
Knowledge of:
-Operations, services, and activities of a facility maintenance program
-Facility engineering principles and practices.
-The standards, codes, and regulations pertaining to construction and mainten
-The standards, codes, and regulations pertaining to construction and maintenance of facilities and structures.
-Building construction and operations processes and procedures, equipment, tools, materials, and their application
-Inspection and investigation techniques
Must be able to pass a CRC
Must hold a Class 5 Drivers Licence
