Family Lawyer

Solo Family lawyer seeks a 2-year call + lawyer with family law experience to take on litigation files on a contract basis. This is a remote position, but the lawyer must be located within the Greater Vancouver area.

Must have at least two years of experience practicing family law litigation. Attention to detail and solid knowledge of the law and court procedures is required. Must be personable, comfortable working directly with clients, and have the ability to independently run files.

Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients in family law matters
- Represent clients in family court proceedings
- Prepare and draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and agreements
- Conduct legal research to support client cases and stay updated on relevant laws and regulations
- Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients
- Advocate for clients' rights and interests during mediation or court hearings
- Maintain client confidentiality and uphold ethical standards

Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or L.L.B. degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice law in B.C.
- Strong knowledge of family law principles, procedures, and regulations
- Excellent legal research and writing skills
- Ability to negotiate effectively and resolve conflicts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job Type: Freelance

Salary: $200.00-$300.00 per hour
