We are currently hiring for the position of:

Family Support Worker

(Supporting Foster Parents Program located in central NL)

This position is an internal/external posting.

This position will be located in the areas west of Glovertown to the Baie Verte Peninsula and extending support to Corner Brook.

Qualifications: Diploma/Degree in Child and Youth Care or a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. First Aid/CPR, valid Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check and a CSSD Check, a valid driver’s license and use of a private vehicle are conditions of employment. Candidates must be self-confident, self-aware, and able to adapt to a broad range of social and interpersonal situations.

Duties and Responsibilities: This is an advanced professional field work providing professional support to foster parents in the context of collaboration and competency building. Family Support Workers engage the foster parents in their life space through the development of therapeutic relationships and the use of hands-on interventions and activities. Employees of this class are responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing, in conjunction with the family, an individual plan. A major emphasis in working with foster parents is placed on strength identification and the increase of professional skill development. Work involves assessment; development, implementation and evaluation of intervention strategies; case planning and management; the provision of consultation and education to the foster parents, and facilitation of training. Travel and remote work will be required.

Starting Salary: CG-30 ($27.25 per hour)
