About the Program

The Toronto Blue Jays are looking for recent graduates or early-career professionals who are interested in learning from industry-leading professionals and exploring what it means to be a part of Canada’s only Major League Baseball team.

Selected individuals will become part of a diverse cohort with access to department-specific training, social activities, and learning opportunities. Each participant will also be assigned a cross departmental mentor from within the organization to guide them throughout the program and the unique chance to present to the Toronto Blue Jays Leadership Team.

During this year long program, candidates will gain invaluable real-world exposure to the sports industry, immersing themselves in the Toronto Blue Jays world right here at the Rogers Centre.

The Blue Jays office is more than just workstations and computers; it is an extension of the ballpark. Here, we channel the game's energy as we strive daily to achieve our mission: to get better every day to win world series championships and celebrate with our fans across Canada.

Overview

As a member of the Dan Experience Team, you will work cross functionally with the Fan Services, Concessions and Ballpark Experience & Operations team to learn the day-to-day planning and execution that goes into delivering exceptional Fan Experiences at all Major League Baseball games and concerts at Rogers Centre. This role requires an enthusiastic, hardworking, self-starter who is passionate about creating exceptional experiences for our fans and staff in the ballpark

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of online and in person training content. Coordinate the scheduling and set up of training sessions. Administer deployment of online training in the Online Learning Portal
  • Aid in the recruitment and onboarding of Ballpark game day staff
  • Create, manage, and update the Service Result Dashboards (Service measurement, Food and Beverage KPIS, Fan Services tracking)
  • Support ballpark operational processes (batting practice administration, credentialling support)
  • Manage and update Fan Experience elements related to concessions (Digital Menus, Web Page content development, KPI measurement)
  • Participate in Job shadowing of game day DT and PT roles within the Fan Services and Ballpark Experience teams.
  • Assist with the execution of VIP elements for concerts
  • Develop and update webpage content (Food Finder, A-Z guide, Know Before You Go etc.)
  • Support Game Day Staff initiatives and events
  • Help with a variety of game day operational set up requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, sports management, or a related field or equivalent work-related experience gained in the last 3 years.
  • Commitment to service excellence and fan satisfaction
  • Excellent problem solving, judgement and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment while standing/walking/climbing stairs indoors for 3-5 hours
  • Ability to lift more than 30 pounds
  • Will be exposed to loud noises and flashing/bright lights and screens
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent relationship building and people skills
  • Ability to multi-task in fast paced working environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, experience with Salesforce preferred
  • Previous work with professional or local sports organization an asset
  • Post-secondary education in sports, business, or hospitality and events preferred
  • Experience in customer service an asset
  • Knowledge of the game of baseball and the Toronto Blue Jays is considered an asset
