Fedex Ground Courier

As a contractor with FedEx Ground, we are looking to hire a new driver for our Cranbrook area to cover holiday time and Saturdays. The ideal candidate will be extremely organized, punctual, reliable and have excellent customer service skills. Our shifts run six days per week so candidates must have open availability and be flexible to cover these days.

Even though you will not be working directly for FedEx, because we transport their packages and drive vehicles with their logos, they have 3 criteria that must be met before you can be approved to drive for us.

1. Clean criminal background check.

2. Hold a valid class 5 or better license for at least 5 years (must be over 21)

3. Two or less infractions in a three-year driver abstract and nothing that would be considered a major infraction

Sorry, I guess I lied... There is one more criteria that is probably the most important one...

4. Must have a great attitude and the ability to have fun at work (this one is non-negotiable)

The first three criteria are imposed by FedEx and not by us so they cannot be made exception to (except #4, that one is mine). If you do not meet all four of these criteria, please do not apply.

Commercial driving experience is an asset but no longer a requirement. We will train the right people though a graduated driving program where you will start in a smaller vehicle and work up to the larger ones.

*If you do not have any commercial driving experience please attach a message or cover letter to your resume indicating why you feel you would be a good candidate for the entry level training program. (vehicles you have driven in the past, U-hauls, RV's etc)

The current starting rate for this position is set at $20/hour plus a monthly customer service bonus of $250 based on eligible days worked. After the three month probationary period the wage will be $22/hour and you will be eligible for Blue Cross benefits.
