Job description

Ha Ha Ha Kidzfest is a festival in Penticton, BC. The mission of our organization is to present world standard performing arts and participatory activities that are entertaining, educational, and accessible to children from all social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds.

The role of Festival Host would include responsibilities such as:

- Assist in organizing details of festival events (performances and activities): logistics, volunteer coordinating, marketing, programming/curriculum development, communication with key stakeholders, etc.

- Implement sponsorship and donation strategies to build the organization’s support base.

- Regular supervisory meetings with delegated staff or board members.

- Other responsibilities regarding the operations of the organization as suited to the successful applicant’s strengths and experience.

Applicants should have the following key skills for this role:

- A desire to share the highest quality arts and cultural experiences to children and youth

- Ability to work independently

- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal

- Ability to lead and direct groups of volunteers

- Strong organizational skills

- Creative problem solving

- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite, Canva,

This is a full-time, fixed-contract position requiring 35 hours per week for up to 8-10 weeks beginning April 22, 2024. Start date may be negotiable.

Starting hourly rate of $17.25, increasing to $17.80 on June 1, 2024.

Due to grant restrictions, applicants must be between the ages of 15 and 30 at the start of employment.

This job is made possible with the support of the Canada Summer Jobs Grant and number of positions as well as start/end dates are dependent on successful receipt of grant funding.
