Job Overview:

As Finance Director - Operations, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing the financial aspects of our Operations team. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, business acumen, the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and work daily with the Senior Management team.

The Finance Director will report directly to the Global Head of FP&A with a dotted line to the COO and EVP of Operations and he/she will be responsible for overseeing financial performance of operations, challenging the Business Units performance, strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, business case reviews and financial analysis specific to our retail operations. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in finance, preferably within the retail industry, and demonstrate expertise in driving financial performance and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Through the support of the FP&A Reporting team, you will conduct regular financial analyses, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide insights into business performance.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to establish financial goals and objectives.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process for operations, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial forecasts, identifying potential risks and opportunities.

  • Monitor and analyze budget variances, work with the BUs for providing recommendations for corrective actions.

Financial Reporting / Performance Analysis:

  • Work with the Business Units to understand risk/opportunities and develop action plans to mitigate the risks and look for areas to leverage those opportunities across the organizations.

  • Highlight key financial metrics with insights and trends. 

  • With the help of the FP&A Reporting team:
    - Review KPI benchmarks across all BUs while challenging the underperforming BUs and course correct.
    - Providing meaningful insights and recommendations to senior management on key financial reports.

Strategic Planning:

  • Contribute to the development of long-term business strategies.

  • Provide financial guidance and insights to support strategic decision-making processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other departments, including business units, global teams and FP&A to ensure financial alignment with overall business objectives.

  • Work closely with the executive team to communicate financial performance and contribute to strategic discussions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is a plus.

  • Proven experience as a Finance Director or in a senior finance role within the retail industry.

  • Agile mindset and ability to work independently.

  • Strong financial modeling, analysis, and forecasting skills.

  • Excellent leadership, contagious passion & energy.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence up and across the organization.

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in financial management software and ERP systems, Power BI, AI software (are strong assets).

This Finance Director - Operations role is crucial for ensuring the financial success of our operations, directly supporting SVP of European operations in CFO group. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, strong financial expertise, and effective leadership skills to drive the financial performance to the operations teams.
