SalaryThe RDKB is currently seeking applications for a full-time, Summer Student position with the Finance department. The position is projected to start April 29 and end August 30, 2024.
Reporting to the Manager of Finance, the Summer Student will have the opportunity to learn and provide assistance with a broad variety of finance and accounting duties. This is a great opportunity for students currently pursing Business Administration and Accounting qualifications, particularly those interested in pursuing an accounting career. Duties will include assisting with data entry, accounts payable, payroll, utility billing, accounts receivable, preparing bank reconciliations and more. Work alongside our team to learn more about accounting in a local government environment!
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following attributes:
- For funding reasons, must be between 15 and 30 years of age and participating in post-secondary education
- At least 1 year previous work experience, ideally in a local government or finance setting
- Current full-time student pursuing an accounting degree
- Experience using Microsoft products including Word and Excel
- Developing understanding of accounting principles
- Attention to detail
