This opportunity…
The Corporate Services Finance Branch streamlines and improves finance processes to allow Highways and Public Works to deliver programs and services more efficiently and effectively. We are a group of professionals that pride ourselves on our customer service focused finance culture and approach. We support a variety of different branches within HPW and value our teamwork, collaboration, and client service. We require a person to assimilate within our group to help monitor and report on expenditures and to manage the operational finance functions within the branches of the Department of Highways and Public Works. You will bring good accounting knowledge, supervisory skills, team building skills, a sense of inquisitiveness and a sense of humor. We will provide a broad spectrum of challenges to help grow your accounting and finance knowledge.
Reporting to the Manager of Finance the Financial Advisor is responsible for supporting the financial activities of branch program area(s) across the department, ensuring the effective management of accounts payable and receivable functions on behalf of the department, conducting audits of work assignments to ensure accurate completion within established timelines, generating a variety of financial reports to assist management in decision-making and providing assistance to the Manager of Finance, as required.

- A degree or diploma in Business Administration, Accounting, Commerce or other related field;
- Experience providing in-depth financial analysis and advice on a variety of accounting and administrative operations, procedures and systems;
- Experience in financial planning, forecasting, and reporting; and
- Experience supervising would be considered an asset.
