Who are you?
We are looking for a Financial Planner to join our team to support the company in launching a new financial planning capability. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, self-directed, enthusiastic person who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. They are excited by the opportunity to stand up a new business line at a leading, innovative financial service company. They have a deep passion for helping people plan for their retirement, thinking about the client’s needs holistically, and not only developing but helping clients to implement the plan to achieve their life goals acting as the lead relationship manager.

The Financial Planner will receive a fixed base salary + commission/bonus.
Responsibilities
- Leverage your client relationship skills and technical planning capability to attract clients and build a planning business at Purpose.
- Deliver exceptional service to clients to build and maintain confidence with them as their trusted advisor.
- Help clients consolidate their assets by integrating financial planning and investment management to consistently deliver better outcomes for clients.
- Partner with stakeholders across the firm to contribute to the ongoing development of modernizing advice, products, and communications at Purpose.
- Communicate with clients via phone and video requiring excellent communication skills.
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation is required.
- Minimum of 7 years experience in financial planning, with a strong knowledge of retirement planning and existing retirement solutions in Canada.
- Registered Retirement Consultant (RRC), Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP), and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) considered an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in business, finance, or economics.
- Exceptional client focus and a desire to work directly with investors.
- Must be an adaptable team player who thrives in a fast-paced work environment.
- Desire to engage in selling & promotion activities to expand a book of clients.
- Highly organized, able to take initiative, and independent.
- Ability to balance fun with a high personal bar for performance.
