Overview:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation's Calgary office is currently recruiting for an Analyst, Financial Planning to join the Business Planning group. This position will report to the Director, BU Controller in the Transmission Pipeline Business Unit (TBU) part of Pembina’s Operations Business Division. 
Pembina's transmission pipeline assets have developed through the strategic acquisition of key natural gas, ethane and condensate transportation infrastructure assets, positioned in some of the most prolific gas producing regions in western Canada and the United States. Pembina's transmission pipelines provide customers with access to premium markets primarily on a fee-for-service basis under long-term contracts through long-haul pipelines. 
The successful candidate will prepare financial forecasts and yearly budgets, provide thoughtful analysis, and identify action items to support decision-making
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
-Prepare monthly financial forecast and presentation materials for TBU assets;
-Develop financial forecasts and plans for short and long-term time frames and provide analysis and strategic recommendations on business performance and optimization;
-Identify and analyze variances to forecast, budget, prior periods; proactively identifying opportunities for improvement;
-Connect financial performance to underlying business drivers using clear, engaging, and easily understandable narratives;
-Identify and understand underlying business trends and challenges;
-Build internal relationships and liaise with various groups within TBU and other Business/Service Units within Pembina to ensure that financial information flows to and from the Business Unit in a coordinated manner;
-Support TBU’s financial reporting;
-Provide support for the financial month-end with varying tasks that complement an efficient month/quarter end timetable by working with various teams in the Controllers group regularly; 
-Identify and facilitate opportunities to improve operational efficiency throughout the department and support implementation of reporting process improvements and Digital Finance transformation; 
-Other business planning inquiries as required;

Qualifications:
-University Degree in Finance or Accounting along with 3+ years of experience in financial/economic analysis or business planning type roles; 
-Professional designation (CFA/CPA); 
-Experience with SAP/BPC an asset, with the ability to create ad-hoc reports as required; 
-Demonstrated financial modelling skills; 
-Superior analytical and problem-solving skills; 
-Knowledge of general accounting principles would be an asset; 
-The ability to simultaneously co-ordinate multiple tasks in a deadline-oriented environment working independently within a self-directed, multifunctional team environment; 
-Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong customer focus; 
-A thorough and attentive focus on detail; 
-A self-motivated attitude to complete objectives; and
-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office products.
