We are looking for a Fire Protection Engineer to join our team in our Montreal office!

As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will be responsible for all Fire Protection, risk engineering, and risk control considerations.

Your day as a Fire Protection Engineer

  • Review and assist customers in the design of Fire Protection building services projects;
  • Review plans and hydraulic calculations based on applicable standards;
  • Carry out Fire Protection surveys and produce reports;
  • Assist and conduct inspection visits to customer sites.
  • Support and develop the practice of research and development, Fire Protection models, and documents on all technical issues and considerations.
  • Develop the risk assessment practice: prepare underwriting reports for the insurance market, risk assessments, and recommendation reports, support brokers in the placement process by providing information on risk exposures and insurers' subjectivities, advise customers on risk exposures and control measures, assist with loss estimation calculations, support the practice of building valuation.

Our ideal candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering; diploma in Fire Protection or applied sciences or other relevant training.
  • A few years of experience in Fire Protection;
  • Knowledge of NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) and FM (Factory Mutual) standards;
  • Knowledge of at least one hydraulic calculation software package (HydraCalc or equivalent);
  • Member of the OIQ (Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec);
  • Autonomous, with a good sense of initiative;
  • Bilingual with strong verbal and written communication skills in French and English.
  • Good knowledge of the MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
