Opportunity/Summary

Pacific Fireplaces is Victoria’s premier fireplace & heat pump company and has been serving greater Victoria’s needs for over 20 years. We specialize in Ductless heat pumps and fireplaces of all types including Natural Gas, Propane, Electric, Wood, and Pellet.

Pacific Fireplaces is looking for a knowledgeable and meticulous fireplace & heat pump service technician who is still willing to learn. Candidate will be familiar and comfortable with the concepts of combustion, gas supply, venting, and electronic controls.

Position may expand to service other appliance types depending on specific candidates expertise.

Key Responsibilities and Functions may include but are not limited to the following:

Installation of wood and gas fireplaces

Strong emphasis on client safety and strict adherence to code & applicable regulation compliance

Professional and expert interactions with, and installations for, a variety of clients including builders, designers and home owners.

Willing and eager to continue expanding knowledge base on a large variety of fireplace & heating products, theory, and practical knowledge

Respectable appearance & great attitude appropriate as a representative of the company

Ability to work independently and lead an apprentice.

Good working knowledge of computers & iphone (Phone is provided)

Technical proclivity – ability & willingness to learn new control & valve systems and understand the proper diagnostic techniques and processes for troubleshooting.

Skills and Qualifications:

Gas Fireplace Installation experience

"A", or "B" gas ticket

Minimum grade 12 education

Preferred: Minimum 2 years experience servicing gas appliances

Valid Driver's license in good standing

Assets:

WETT Ticket (Technician)

Experience with Heat Pump Installation / Service and/or refrigeration ticket

Electrical / electronics experience

Carpentry experience

Job Type: Journeyman – Installer

Hours: 25-50 hours per week, some seasonal demand
