The Opportunity

As a valued member of our Network Communications team, you will be responsible for the implementation and administration of networks and systems needed to support corporate, district, substation and SCADA communications. You will evaluate systems design in a multi-segment, multi-platform and multi-operating system environment for overall effectiveness, security, cost, and reliability. You will investigate system failures, perform troubleshooting and tuning to resolve systems management, communication and interoperating problems.

In this role, you will be required to have a solid technical background with a strong commitment to maintaining cybersecurity standards and best practices. You have practical experience in the design, procurement, installation and administration of Information Technology infrastructure and systems including firewalls, switches, routers, VoIP, WIFI, VPN, traffic logging/analysis, centralized management platforms and structured data wiring.

Your qualifications include a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field supplemented by 5-10 years' experience. Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or Fortinet NSE (Levels 4-7) certifications would be considered an asset. Knowledge of current OT networking technologies, such as protection relays, IED management systems, data concentrators and SCADA systems would be considered assets. Inter-provincial travel will be required.

You are a highly motivated team player with a strong commitment to safety, environment and customer service, have an excellent work ethic, and effective interpersonal and communication skills. You thrive in a multi-project environment and must possess the ability to transition quickly between projects and daily work tasks in an organized manner. You have strong problem solving and analytical skills and exceptional judgment to achieve results.
