The purpose of this role is to create all maintenance and planning schedules.

 

The Planning produces the daily maintenance schedule ensuring that all concerned parties have full visibility of Alstom’s maintenance requirements for the next 14 days. Planning the daily maintenance schedule to include Exams,Wheel Turning, Defects, Modifications, etc. to ensure Alstom runs a fleet that stays within maintenance mileage tolerances within the agreed limits. The role will closely monitor the fleet mileage and condition status, with particular reference to the identification of defects and potential defects. It will be responsible for planning resources and materials to increase depot efficiencies:

 

Increasing ownership and accountability.

  • Improving efficiencies.
  • Creating a Continuous Improvement team culture.
  • Meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Demonstrate improvements in all aspects of Services Execution.
  • Active electronic data wall.
  • Forecasting & Developing balance Maintenance Regimes.
  • Reviewing depot designs and throughput optimization.

 

The Fleet Planner/Depot Planner liaises with a wide range of both internal and external stakeholders to facilitate all plans ensuring successful delivery to time, cost, and quality.

This role is part of a team that will encompass all aspects of maintenance including heavy maintenance, exams, defects, etc. Therefore, ensuring that the maintenance plans are robust and that the necessary resources, facilities, and materials are available and allocated to deliver the plan. This role will drive and monitor Production in the delivery of the plan, and systematically review performance.

 

This role will develop the necessary tools, techniques, and governance processes to ensure that the planning function is sufficiently robust. Thereby capturing all elements of the fleet which drive availability and that a comprehensive condition status of the fleet is compiled, maintained, and utilized in the planning process. This fleet status shall be used to proactively monitor each unit’s condition and subsequently manage the plan, and the unit workload and provide reports to the customer.

 

This role will also be accountable for planning the workload for the outstations and managing the train diagramming process effectively to ensure that the units are delivered at the required locations.

 

Qualifications & Functional Knowledge:

  • Post-Secondary degree in Planning, Data Analysis or related discipline.
  • Railway experience would be an asset.
  • Experience in Maximo and proficiency in Microsoft suite an asset and Power BI
