C &W Renovations and Improvements Ltd. is seeking an experienced Floor Covering Installer to join our team. We are an established, Regina based, residential and commercial buildings renovation company with a great reputation. This is a full time, permanent position in a fast-paced work environment that offers long term personal growth and advancement opportunities.
JOB DUTIES:
- Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered,
- Conduct moisture, pH, temperature and other tests prior to flooring installations,
- Prepare floors for installations,
- Remove existing Floor Coverings and contaminants,
- Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding,
- Measure, cut and install carpeting using hand or machine stitcher, seaming iron, bonding tape or other bonding materials,
- Stretch carpeting using knee-kicker or power stretcher and secure carpeting to floor or other surfaces using staple gun or other devices,
- Measure, cut and install resilient Floor Covering using adhesive, rollers and other hand tools,
- Install hardwood floors, such as strip floors, block floors or plank floors, using glue, staples, nails or other means, and
- Inspect and repair damaged Floor Coverings.
- Follow established operational health and safety procedures,
- Clean up job site after work and return equipment and tools, and
- Maintain a clean work environment.
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Floor Covering Installer is required,
- Attention to detail & eye for quality execution, yet can think outside the box,
- Strong work ethic and dedicated to providing outstanding client service,
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills,
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and comfortable multi-tasking,
- Self-disciplined with excellent time management skills, and
- Verbal fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese is an asset.
