Floral Clerk

Location: McKenzie Corner, 1286 McKenzie Ave., Victoria, BC V8P 5P2

THE ROLE

The Root Cellar is seeking a Part Time Floral Clerk to add to our Potting Shed Team! This position requires working inside the plant & floral section as well as outdoors when needed in our Garden Centre. The ideal candidate will possess an artistic eye for arranging, as well as basic knowledge of indoor and outdoor plant care and variety.

• Assist in the preparation and arrangement of cut flowers and foliage.

• Maintain giftware displays, ensuring price accuracy.

• Assess customer needs and make appropriate design recommendations.

• Care for a large inventory of cut flowers.

• Receive and price retail merchandise orders.

• Work collaboratively with the floral team to create custom orders.

• Work with minimal supervision and be a team player.

• Work experience in the floral/horticulture industry is an asset.

• Outstanding customer service and consultation skills.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively.

• Willingness and ability to work inside and outside in all weather conditions.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work flexible hours including days, nights and weekends.
