Focus Factory Manager

Dresden Industrial Ridgetown is actively seeking a Focus Factory Manager for our Ridgetown, ON facility. This position will commence immediately. The successful applicant will work minimum 40-44 hours per week.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Operations Manager or Business Manager or equivalent technical experience in a related field.

Experience: 5 years’ experience in a management position in an automotive manufacturing environment, preferably within a unionized workplace

Skills: Analytical, problem solving, excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate to all tiers of management and staff, complete financial management budgeting of the business unit, the ability to identify opportunities, cost saving initiatives and build long term mutually based and trusting relationships.

Safety Responsibilities:

- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, including but not limited to all requirements outlines in Sections 25, 26, 27 and 28.

- Review, understand, enforce, and comply with all policies and procedures in the Dresden Industrial Health and Safety Manual.

- Responsible for the implementation and on-going performance of the EMS including its review, provision of adequate resources, determining compliance and adherence to the Environmental Policy.

- Ensure joint unionized/staff safety audits are conducted monthly.

Quality Responsibilities:

- Maintain quality standards on all products and processes

- Responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing processes meet or exceed all quality expectations for the product

- Exercise compliance with Quality Management systems when implementing and performing all company procedures

- Ensure all personnel/operators are trained in products and control part quality

- Ensure a process of continuous quality improvement is evident

- Ensure customer quality concerns are promptly addressed and corrective actions initiated

Environmental Responsibilities:

- Integrate environmental practices and commit to the continuous improvement of the EMS

- Exercise compliance with ISO 14001 standards

General Responsibilities:

- Oversee the Production, Engineering and Quality departments within your Focus Factory

- Creating long-term plans and initiatives to accomplish company goals efficiently

- Develop and implement strategies to keep the workforce motivated and engaged

- Improve line efficiencies while improving quality levels, including the reduction of waste

- Ensure continuous improvement programs are evident and documented to improve process and reduce cost in all areas of the Focused Factory

- Seek out and benchmark modern management techniques that can improve moral/company image/profitability

- Ensure all documentation is completed as required

- Ensure an environment of cross training is evident amongst staff as well as hourly unionized workforce

- Foster a positive team environment and assist coworkers as required

- Comply with all company policies and procedures

- All other duties as assigned by management.
