About the Role:

Define and state rules and good practices for UGP for the plant, based on guidelines defined by FSQD and other external organizations. Define sanitation and pest controls activities aimed to guarantee appropriate sanitary condition within the working environment. Organize and supervise internal and external monitoring, in order to assure the proper application of related working instructions.


Assures preparation and maintenance of all the certifications related to quality: standard Group certifications (related to ISO 9000 audit, ISO9001 and FSSC22000), certifications required by clients (IFS, McDonald, Costco, ethic-religion, etc. ) or local authorities.

Responsible for the management 3P service as Waste Management, Sanitation, Pest Control and Kosher programs.

Responsible for the Food Safety and quality system, creates the quality manual and manage the plant procedures, working instructions and plant quality documentation. Monitors KPI and reports on the action plans progress.

Main Responsibilities:

Food Safety
  • Defines, in accordance to FSQD and other external organizations, necessary rules in order to guarantee product (workflow) traceability, to detect origins of quality related issues.
  • Maintain, update and provide continuous improvement for Food Safety and Quality system in order to meet CFIA/FDA regulatory guidelines and maintain certification
  • Review weekly paperwork from production, Sanitation, GMP’s, and follow up with issues that arise to ensure Food Safety issues are handled.
  • Create and update Food Safety Procedures
  • Manage all Food Safety auditing and inspections
  • Manage Food Safety implementation for new areas
Food Safety Plans
  • Develops and updates HACCP plans (FSP) through risk analysis method
  • Coordinates the plant Food Safety team
Employee Training
  • Develop the employee training programs and presentation, ensure they are updated
  • Conduct plant wide training with all employees and assist with auto-control training
  • Ensure employees received GMP training and CCP as required
  • Conduct Quality portion of the new Employee Orientation
  • Conduct one on one training with employees for required CCP, sanitation program
  • Evaluate training gaps and supervises all training related FSMS, GMP, PRP, HACCP, QMS.
Audits
  • Guarantees training to auditors.
  • Guarantees internal audit planning and execution.
  • Guarantees the planning and management of internal audit follow up related to both Group (FQD, Corporate audits) and plant (plant and industrial warehouses)
  • Assures preparation and maintenance of all the certifications related to quality: standard Group certifications (ISO9001 and FSSC22000), certifications required by clients (IFS, McDonald, Costco, ethic-religious…) or local authorities.
Outsourced Services
  • Oversee the day to day activities of the industrial cleaners (company contracted) and pest control company ensuring compliance with Ferrero standards
  • Liaison between Ferrero staff and Cleaning crew to resolve any issues including Health and Safety – including HR
Administrative
  • work with accounting with the invoicing of services and approvals of services
  • reviewing contract with all outsourced companies – operational side -, work with purchasing for contract improvements
  • Assist QA Manager with the preparation of the Quality programs budget
  • Monitor and review of all Quality programs to ensure budget is met and cost savings are implemented where possible
Food safety and Quality System (Documentation)
  • Monitors process indicators included consumers complaints and assures central data collection related to quality, certification and management system matters.
  • Monitors KPI and reports on the action plans progress to Plant Manager and to plant team, as well as to Central Directions.
  • Creates the quality manual and plant procedures, working instructions and manages plant quality documentation
Quality and Food Safety
  • Ensure all program requirements/standards regarding quality and Food Safety are implemented, practiced and maintained.
  • Coordinates and manages HACCP team.
Environmental
  • To assist in the implementation of and conformance to the Environmental Management System within key process areas.

Who we are looking for:

  • 4-7 years Quality Assurance experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • Educational background in Food Safety/Microbiology/Food Science or related field is an asset
  • Knowledge of Food Safety programs and GMP’s
  • Knowledge of ISO Standards – ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000
  • Lead auditor certification
  • Internal auditing experience is an asset
  • Ability to conduct presentations and training sessions
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others
  • Strong communication skills in a multi-cultural environment
  • Knowledge of Ferrero’s products and Quality/Food Safety standards
  • Knowledge of Ferrero company processes
