We’re looking for a Forestry Superintendent - Indigenous Relations to join our Meadow Lake Woodlands Team in Meadow Lake, or Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.Our Meadow Lake Woodlands Team operates Tolko's forest resources across Saskatchewan, including timber harvesting, silviculture, and forest management and log yard activities. We are dedicated to sustaining these areasto the benefit of all who live and work there.


Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-10 years of related experience with an understanding of forestry planning and operations.
  • Familiarity and good understanding of Indigenous cultures and history within SK and Canada.
  • Strong negotiation and mediation skills.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Proven experience with managing Indigenous relationships, preferably in a forestry context.
  • Ability to promote Tolko as a potential employer for Indigenous people.
  • Ability to leading and or participate in meetings with Indigenous partners and communities.
  • A strong understanding of Saskatchewan forest management practices, government requirements and guidelines related to indigenous consultation and engagement.
  • Regulated professional with the Association of Saskatchewan Forest Professionals or able to become registered.


In this role you will:

  • Be responsible for the engagement and fostering of relationships with several neighboring Indigenous communities for our Meadow Lake Woodlands Division.
  • Provide support and guidance to Woodlands staff by advancing Indigenous community engagement, business development, training, and education.
  • Participate in the negotiation and implementation of agreements that contribute to successful and meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities.
  • Play an active role in corporate and other regional Indigenous Relations committees and community events, while acting as a key contact with various First Nation and Metis communities.
