Forestry Technician

Oak Tree Forestry Services Ltd. is currently seeking forestry technicians and forestry laborer applicants for our expanding team!

With over 25 years of experience, Oak Tree Forestry Services Ltd. provides our technicians with the opportunity to grow within the company through hands-on, practical work within a committed team. Ranging from a variety of projects that include timber reconnaissance, block layout, and timber cruising, this position is ideal for those who are passionate about working in the outdoors.

The preferred applicants should :

· Have an experience background in the BC Forestry Industry and/or equivalent schooling

· Have a solid understanding of GPS traversing, road layout and cutblock layout

· Be a committed and self-reliant team player

· Be capable of working independently

· Be punctual and dependable:

· Be able-bodied and capable of completing physically demanding projects in difficult terrain

· Have a strong “bush sense” that includes compass reading, terrain and tree identification and being bear aware

· Being capable of working through diverse and unpredictable weather conditions

· Overtime pay includes time and a half after 8hrs and double after 11hrs

This position operates out of Williams Lake, BC and runs approximately from April until November with transportation offered and included. Generally, shifts alternate between 10 days on and 4 days off though this can be subject to change.

Salary: $23.00-$30.00 per hour
