The Bell Media team creates and delivers the best Canadian and international content across our digital media, television, radio, and out-of-home advertising platforms. Key Responsibilities
  • Write compelling, clear, concise news scripts under tight deadlines
  • Write stories according to station policies, editorial style and rundown
  • Research and evaluate news stories and sources
  • Update news stories as stories develop
  • Work as part of a team
  • Write scripts and add production (video, clips and graphics)
  • Coordinate video editing of news stories
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Must be available to work weekends, early/late shifts
Critical Qualifications
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of political, domestic, international news and current affairs.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Word and iNews.
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to create clear, compelling, concise news stories from raw materials including: unedited video, reporter notes, desk notes, telephone interviews, wire copy, turn-around live news conferences
  • Writing style
  • Familiarity with video editing systems
  • Ability to respond rapidly and effectively to breaking news
  • Demonstrated ability to originate coverage on developing stories.
  • Experience selecting video to tell stories.
