Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years of paid professional tax preparation experience, utilizing tax preparation software
- Prepared a minimum of 125 tax returns per season for the past 3 years
- Experience preparing various federal and provincial tax returns for individuals, including students, pensioners, self-employed individuals, rental property owners, investors, and individuals with foreign income
- Familiarity with tax laws and concepts, along with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Windows and mobile platforms, as well as G-suite applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible availability/schedule
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French (reading, writing, and speaking) is advantageous
- Prior experience with Quebec tax (TP1) returns and providing support in a contact center environment is beneficial
Responsibilities
- Offer expert tax guidance for personal tax returns in a remote, seasonal, and customer-facing position
- Collaborate with customers to prepare or review their tax returns, ensuring compliance and accuracy through tax guidance and preparation services
- Research and resolve tax-related queries, addressing specific questions from customers in written and verbal formats
- Provide a Full Service experience by preparing, reviewing, and filing customers' returns with the CRA (Canada Revenue Agency). Alternatively, guide customers as they prepare their own tax returns, offering tax advice and assisting with required documentation for the CRA
- Stay updated on tax regulations to provide accurate advice on maximizing customer's tax returns
- Create exceptional customer interactions and experiences, instilling confidence through empathy, deep tax knowledge, and expertise
- Actively seek solutions for each customer by utilizing government websites, professional resources, and team expertise, and effectively communicating in everyday language
- Resolve customer inquiries by applying established practices, procedures, and company policies
