What you’ll do:
Provide safe, courteous, efficient and customer-focused service and prepare fresh items for our C-Stores.
- Responsible for the preparation of fresh items for C-Stores in accordance with predetermined Co-op Fresh Department specs, standards and procedures.
- Responsible for measuring, combining and preparing ingredients using mixers, slicers, kitchen tools, heat sources, knives and/or equipment to prepare fresh items in a timely manner. Completes data entry into scales to ensure specials are entered and products are weighed correctly prior to labeling.
- Exhibits creativity in developing new products to provide variety and meet customer demands.
- Reviews and adjusts all items in display cases to ensure all stock is fronted, following first in first out procedures, and/or filled to ensure ease of guest access
- Responsible for coordination of the Fresh orders from the C-stores. Supports Management with the inventory needs.
- Maintain and ensure compliance with Discovery Co-op standards, government food and sanitation, and health and safety standards.
- To be familiar with and adhere to Discovery Co-op Policies and Procedures. To live the Co-op brand every day and perform other duties as assigned.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Customer Service and:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- 1-2 years food preparation experience required.
- Co-operative retail experience is an asset.
- Safe Food Handling Certificate will be required upon hire.
- Must be comfortable working with different types of equipment such as scales, knives, pricing equipment, step ladders, etc.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, have good manual dexterity and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work regularly in cooler temperatures due to products in department.
- You must be available for days, evenings and weekends
