JOB DESCRIPTION
General Function
Join our team today as a Delivery Truck Driver and you’ll have taken your first step towards having a fulfilling and rewarding career with Encore Metals. Through remote supervision and using company owned vehicles, you’ll make local and long run deliveries to customers, or to retrieve material from suppliers, operate cranes, lift trucks, and contribute to the smooth flow of our warehouse operations. Reporting to the Manager of Plant Operations, you'll play a vital role in ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products to our customers. Members with a team mentality thrive in our environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Using company owned trucks and trailers to transport documents and materials as dispatched.
- Successfully complete Orientation and Training and pass any related Performance Evaluations within the new hire probationary period.
- Perform all job functions in accordance with the Company Quality Policy and Quality Work Instructions.
- Perform all job functions in accordance with all Legislated Laws, and Company Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Perform supporting warehouse duties as assigned by Management (Order Packaging, Dual Verifications, Inventory, Housekeeping, Grounds Keeping, etc.) Training provided as required.
- Operate auxiliary equipment (ex: forklift, skid steer, lawn maintenance, overhead crane) to assist in all warehouse operations as needed. Training provided as required.
- Report all Health & Safety and Quality Sub-Standard Conditions, Traffic Accidents or Violations and any Damage to Property as soon as practicable. Training provided as required.
- Maintains Driver Logs (Paper and ELD) to meet Government Standards. Training provided as required.
- Performs minor maintenance and repair to trucks or trailers as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
- Possess D.O.T. Commercial License Class 1 or 3 for heavy duty trucks (preferred).
- A minimum of 2 years truck driving experience, flat deck preferred. To be verified by references and commercial drivers abstract.
