Description:

We are seeking a Sandwich Maker/ Kitchen Assistant who works well in a fast-paced kitchen setting. In this position, you will prepare and serve tea sandwiches, fill short orders, and support other kitchen staff. You must have stamina to work in a busy kitchen, work well with others, and you should have a strong sense of accountability for your work. Job Description:

Make tea sandwiches

• Prepare fillings and make tea sandwiches
• Fill orders pertaining to your station
• Inventory control and avoid food waste
• Makes crustado shells

Fills short orders if others are on break

Scrapes food from dirty dishes and places them to dishwashing machine

Help prepare vegetables- wash, cut, peel, etc

Takes turn in kitchen/ equipment cleaning

• Wash drain tray in dishwasher as required
• mop/ sweep the kitchen floor, equipment and surfaces
• Take out trash bags from kitchen
• Helps put groceries away

Clean mini fridge

Other additional duties as assigned

Qualification Required:

Food Safe Level 1

Excellent knife skills

Kitchen experience preferred- ability to operate commercial ovens, mixers, and food processor

Skills required

Ability to carry out tasks quickly and competently

Ability to work under pressure and prioritize

Ability to pick up detailed instructions quickly and follow them closely

Understanding the importance of health, hygiene, sanitation and food safety

A great team player

Good communication skills

Able to adapt to different conditions

Willingness to learn and keen attitude

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: $17.19-$17.66 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
