Furniture Specialist – Interior Design
Responsibilities
– Will be expected to consult closely with designers on coordination, finishes and materials, client expectations and requirements.
- Conducting onsite measurements and site evaluations with high level of accuracy for space planning/ functional layout
- Proficient in producing floor plans, elevations, details, etc. using AutoCAD & Sketch Up
- Cohesive design presentations with various furniture pieces, different fabrics/finishes, artwork, window treatments, accessories, etc.
- Attendance of evening meetings/ presentations with clients, if required
- Will be able to cater to various design styles depending on the wishes of the clients
- Effectively and professionally communicate/coordinate with clients, property management, suppliers, vendors and delivery companies
- Will be responsible for tracking of all delivery timelines
- Being onsite to accept all deliverables, ensuring quality and checking for any damage sustained during delivery
- Responsible for managing any returns if items are damaged
- Responsible for arranging furniture in space as previously presented to the client.
- Responsible for purchasing of accessories
Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Interior Design.
– Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code
- Up to date knowledge of Ontario Fire codes for furniture and fabrics, etc.
– Accustomed to working in a fast‐paced, deadline-oriented environment
– Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
– Self-motivated with the ability to collaborate within a diverse team
– Experience with FF&E in completed projects
- ARIDO / NCIDQ is an asset
- Valid G Driver’s license is required.
Software Skills
– Sketch-Up
– Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, In-Design, Acrobat, Illustrator)
– Autodesk AutoCAD
– Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
