As an EXPERIENCED Garage Door Technician you will be expected to troubleshoot, repair and maintain all makes of Garage Doors and openers. This position is a primary service and installation role in the Calgary market area. The role focuses on promoting and maintaining customer relationships by ensuring customer satisfaction, expanding the customer base, providing for parts/service recovery and new product sales. The role is accountable for mechanical repair work and resolves specific causes of problems within customer and GDD requirements. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish and maintain a positive relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
- Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with all levels of customers and co-workers.
- Assist customers by providing technical assistance regarding installations and repairs of Garage Door systems.
- Maintains knowledge of all operations and parts manuals associated with all products/equipment.
- Serve as technical support for GDD customers as needed.
- Support sales and service efforts by responding to customer and GDD requirements as needed.
- Increase GDD customers’ awareness of how GDD products, services, & solutions can benefit them. Actively participate in product and service marketing plans.
- Submit daily accurate, detailed reports and complete tasks on time.
- Maintain company property, including vehicle and tools/equipment.
- Actively promote safety education and accident prevention in line with GDD safety guidelines.
Direct/Verifiable Experience Required (2+ years preferred & required for base wage listed).
Drivers Abstract Required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a detail oriented person who can follow our systems, processes and approach to business/customer service.
- Must possess strong customer skills and work ethic: Honest and dedicated to customer satisfaction, reliable, dependable and professional.
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills required.
- A proven track record of observing and demonstrating safety in the field.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Alert and watchful with a strong attention to detail.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer/smart phone system skills. MS Office, Smartphone/Tablets, etc.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with good driving record (no major violations).
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to lift Garage Door products, work from ladders or mechanical lifts and stoop, kneel, bend, and/or crawl.
Wage: Initial compensation rate will be based on experience with a possible increase upon demonstration of consistent exceptional customers service and quality workmanship. Signing bonus paid out after six months of consistent / uninterrupted employment in good standing and clear demonstration of the above.
