Gardener/Groundskeeping Coordinator

Century Barn Weddings is a family-owned and operated wedding venue located in Cavan. We take pride in providing couples with a charming and beautiful setting for their special day. Our team is dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences for our clients and their guests. We also strive to provide a flexible and supportive work environment. We are looking for a Groundskeeping Coordinator who is professional, motivated and independent, with strong problem-solving skills! The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, organized person. The successful candidate should be able to work 20-35 hours per week from mid-April to mid-November.

Key Responsibilities
– Perform routine tasks such as mowing, trimming, and edging to keep the venue grounds well-manicured and maintained
– Monitor and address issues related to turf, trees and plants
– Work with Venue Managers to enhance landscaping features including flower beds, lanes, and other outdoor areas
– Propose and implement creative ideas to improve the overall aesthetics of the venue grounds
– Plan and execute seasonal planting and garden displays
– Manage and maintain groundskeeping equipment, arranging for repairs or replacements as needed
– Keep an inventory of tools and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels
– Develop and implement seasonal plans for grounds maintenance, considering weather conditions and upcoming events
– Adjust landscaping and groundskeeping activities based on seasonal needs
– Watering plants and lawns as needed
– Work closely with other venue staff including event coordinators and seasonal staff
– Communicate effectively to ensure seamless coordination of groundskeeping activities
– Performing other related duties as required

Skills and Qualifications
– Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping or a related field is preferred
– Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
– Outstanding organizational skills and detail-orientation skills
– Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
– Sense of ownership and pride in their performance and its impact on the clients’ satisfaction
– Team player and self-starter
– Great interpersonal and communication skills
– Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision
– Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
– Ability to lift up to 50LBs
– Working knowledge of equipment maintenance

$19 – $23 per hour
