Position: General Accountant - Manufacturing

Great news! Quantum has partnered with an amazing manufacturing client to hire a dynamic and self-motivated General Accountant for their company located in Mississauga.
The ideal candidate must have 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience, working within a manufacturing environment and supporting multiple business units across different geographical locations.
The General Accountant will report directly to the Senior Manager of Accounting and will be part of the team responsible for month-end closing, accurate bookkeeping, account reconciliations and analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performing monthly and year-end accounting closing procedures, including collaboration with plant personnel, preparation of standard entries, accruals and other adjusting entries, running and analyzing reports, etc.
- Performing account analytics
- Preparing sales/commodity tax returns
- Performing regulatory reporting for a variety of government entities
- Liaising with external auditors in performance of interim and annual audit of financial statements
- Performing periodic review and testing of internal controls
- Performing ad hoc reporting and other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Completed or currently pursuing accounting designation (CPA/CGA preferred)
- Completed bachelor's degree, specializing in accounting
- 3 or more years of related general accounting experience in a complex environment (preferably manufacturing)
- Experience working with multiple entities in a multi-currency environment preferred
- Strong systems background and excellent analytical skills
- Good written/verbal communication and collaborative skills
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products
- Knowledge of ERP systems and ability to work well with others
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision and with competing priorities
