General Cashier
Summary
The position of General Cashier is responsible for processing and reconciliation of cash deposits and maintaining the hotel float according to company policies, as well as, processing foreign currency.
Specific duties and responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Count and reconcile daily cash drops, prepare due backs, prepare bank deposits and post corresponding journal entries.
- Control and maintain hotel float, manage float disbursement when necessary, and complete monthly float counts for employee having floats.
- Process and reconcile petty cash receipts.
- Processing and reconciling Cash Bars
- Other duties as assigned
**Please note this position requires travelling to Hotels in Toronto**
Qualifications:
- The position requires solid communication, analytical, interpersonal & time management skills.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in accounting complemented by a recognized certificate or degree in accounting and/or hospitality.
- Some courses towards accreditation by a professional accounting body are also valued. The Accounting Generalist must be detail oriented, and, have the ability to successfully multi-task.
- Expertise with Excel and other Microsoft Office features is essential. Familiarity with Aptech PVNG, Marriott PMS or Lightspeed are desirable.
